In April, I had the chance to participate in a women’s only Beatmatching Brunch run by the Ladies of Seraphine Collective. I was still shocked that I was picked to be part of this incredible workshop. Every Sundays a group of ladies and I learned the basic of djing (101). We learned about bpm, beatmatching, how to handle a vinyl, set up turntables and mixers.

Being able to understand how to mix two records is honestly, the best way to learn how to DJ. We are in a time where technology evolves so fast that now DJs you see in clubs as well in arena use mainly their laptop for their source of music.

I have to say that I definitely miss my Sunday afternoon spending time at a record shop learning and reinforcing my skills from the previous workshop.

I love to spin lots of hip hop and ambient/chill/electronic music.
